Questions & Answers
What is the Knights of Columbus?
The Knights of Columbus is the world’s largest Catholic fraternal benefit society, with more than 1.9 million members in over a dozen countries. Founded by Father Michael J. McGivney to help provide financial aid to Catholic families and we help support a multitude of local charitable causes (see tab on Contributions). Our parish currently has about 35 active members.
How do I join the Knights of Columbus?
Membership in the Knights of Columbus is open to males 18 years of age or older who are Michael Pastorius or stop by the Church office.
Are there dues?
Membership dues are currently $25 per year.
How often do you meet?
General membership meetings are held the second Monday of the month between September and June. The meetings begin at 7:00 PM and generally last about an hour and are held at 1019 Germantown Pike, Plymouth Meeting (KOC 4153 John F Kennedy). There are no meetings in July or August. Other meetings are held for planning and holding special events, such as those listed on our website.
For more information, please call the St. Philip Neri Church office at (610) 834-1975 (Ask for Michael or Barney) or complete our contact form.
To Father McGivney's mind, there was no reason why the full force of faith could not compel the everyday life of the American Catholic layperson. As a spiritual father, he generated in others the conviction that Catholic citizenship should become the standard of civic solidarity, social service and societal strength.
